Leaves in a Holocaust Wind.
Winner of the US Pinnacle award, 1919; Finalist in the UK Open Book Awards. Story of two Gypsy youngsters who survive the Gypsy Holocaust of WW2.My aim has been to provide an authentic account of the Gypsy Holocaust of WW2 through the eyes of two survivors. I have based much of it on real incidents for which I have the photographic proof. It tells how two teenagers manage to miss being murdered and how they support each other in hiding for the rest of the War until liberation. The book ends as they explain to the War Crimes Commission the evidence they have of what happened to Europe's Roma and Sinti and the Jenisch. My position is this: This awful Holocaust event has never fully been made public. The numbers who were murdered is invariably understated (I can prove 1M minimum) and frequently, the deniers imply that the Gypsies somehow 'deserved it' (the oft claimed 'social misfits' claim is deliberate falsification.). A few years ago, a Jewish academic asked me, "Why are the Gypsies spoiling our Holocaust?" That is why I wrote the book so ordinary people can find the truth. Please do all you can to publicise it. The Great Devouring. At least 1 million Gypsies died though most figures in books grossly underestimate the total, some disgracefully so. Booklet combining responses of young people in Durham who did a project on the Romani genocide in Europe during WW2 and then wrote and commented on it. Very interesting booklet. Price £2.50

A Methodist book for children
True stories really make you think. >REFLECTIONS= is just such a book of true stories for young people. They come from the lives and experiences of the members of St. John's Methodist Church in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. The words of the authors say something honest and humorous about their experiences of childhood - with all its ups, downs, crises, and normality. Their words also say something illuminating about their experiences of people - the good, the not so good, the ordinary, and the extraordinary. Above all, they say something truly important about faith. Christian faith in their lives, faith in the lives of others, and the possibilities for faith in a reader=s life. Contents include stories of achievement in times of difficulty, of inspirational people and even a true account of a pig which began attending church regularly. Colour illustrations, A5, 32pp. ISBN 978-1-903418-79-6. RA approx 9.5, interest ages range from 5 to 13 approx. Price reduced to £2.50 |
